Sustainability
Timber is natural, renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic and recyclable. Timber also gives excellent levels of natural thermal insulation. When sourced from certified, well-managed forests, there is no building material with a lower environmental impact.
Morland has achieved sustainable timber certification under ‘Chain of Custody’ schemes which enable us to prove that the source of our timber is sustainable. Our adherence to these schemes is audited by TRADA, and both systems are recognised by the UK Government’s Central Point of Expertise on Timber (CPET).
To see how Morland supports sustainable forestry download our environmental policy available on the resources page along with copies of our chain of custody certification.
Efficiency
At the very core of our offer is the principle of waste reduction through efficient factory-controlled processing. All raw material dimensions are carefully determined to minimise waste. For some of our key processes we use optimisation software to ensure the highest material yields.
A major proportion of the waste produced by our plants is recycled, often being returned to our own suppliers for reprocessing.
Morland operates closed packaging loops with a number of customers eliminating the cost and waste from single use pallets and shrink-wrap.
