Lightweight Furniture Ply certified sustainable

Morland now certifies their 15mm lightweight furniture ply to be PEFC 80%.  Andrew Warren, Commercial Director of Morland stated: “Our auditors BM Trada are satisfied with our audit trail  to trace the timber we use in our production all the way back to the forest.  The poplar forestry in question is certified by PEFC as meeting all the criteria for sustainable production.  Consequently we are making a sustainable forestry claim under our certificate BMT-PEFC-0531.

The only claim of sustainable forestry that is recognised is an audited “chain of custody” scheme.  If the details of the certificate are not stated on the delivery note from your supplier then there is no “chain of custody”.  It is all too easy for a supplier to give lip service to environmental concerns.

Morland is stating its 15mm lightweight furniture ply is from a sustainable source, and we can prove it.”

“Carbon” added to Morland Lightweight Furniture Ply Range

The popular carbon decoration has now been added to the lightweight furniture ply range offered by Morland.  Commenting on the addition Commercial Director, Andrew Warren said: “The market has welcomed the arrival of a British manufacturer.  Morland has been able to demonstrate the quality of our production.  Customers appreciate our short lead times and the fact that we use nine ply board to improve screw retention.

We  have the confidence to commit to the 5000m2 of printed laminate required to supply this decoration.  We anticipate being able to offer Carbon as an ex-stock colour from the 1st April 2011″.
